SITREP gives users a comprehensive look at the current state of their music listening history, mimicing the practicality of situation reporting done in the fire service and military. My main inspiration for this idea came from the NIFC (National Interagency Fire Center)!
A Situation Report (SITREP) is a concise, factual, and regularly updated report that provides information to stakeholders on the current status of a situation including activities and ongoing developments.
I loved the juxtaposition created by applying a sterilized, practical medium to an inherently creative field like music! Plus, the no-nonsense, digestible format of a SITREP fit the theme of presenting user statistics really well.
The short answer is no. The Spotify API doesn't provide access to information that granular. I would love to be able to tell you what percentage of listeners you fall under for an artist, but on the bright side that should make your yearly Wrapped that much more special!
Short answer: I don't know! Long answer: Spotify handles all the criteria for determining your top tracks and artists. It seems to make sense but I know some of my stats have definitely surprised me!
NO! All data is communicated to SITREP directly from Spotify and never stored or transmitted elsewhere. Check out the code here and see for yourself!
